Mattia Balsamini
Mattia Balsamini (Pordenone Italy, 1987), moved to Los Angeles in 2008, where he began his studies at the Brooks Institute of California. In 2010 he collaborated in David LaChapelle’s studio as studio assistant and archivist.
In 2011, after graduating with honorable mention, he returned to Italy. Since then, he combined teaching at the IUAV University of Venice, the IED of Milan and Turin — with photographing extensively technology and its sociological implications, focusing his attention on work as a factor of man’s identity. Over the years he has carried out personal and editorial projects for institutions such as MIT, NASA and the Institute of Forensic Medicine University of Zurich.
He has exhibited at the Milan Triennale, at MAXXI, and at the Italian Cultural Institute in San Francisco.
