Ageas INsure open innovation program: winning startups
Each of the startups selected for our program with Ageas Portugal will receive €25,000 each and test its idea within the Group.
Over 200 startups from 35 Countries applied to our open innovation program with Ageas Portugal, part of the Group Ageas, a leader in the insurance sector.
The areas of interest of the call for startups were:
- tech for insurance – solutions to strengthen the efficiency, safety and speed of the Group's internal processes;
- future of healthcare – technologies that address modern healthcare needs;
- happy human – new technologies and business models that support people in their search for happiness and that improve their lives.
Selected startups
- Hug-a-Group: a mental health app that connects people in group therapy, with the help of psychologists, through videoconference. It includes a community, an emotion diary and wellbeing journeys;
- Lumnion: a series of platforms based on big data and artificial intelligence that support actuaries from insurance companies in setting product prices;
- Virtual i Technologies: risk assessment platform which supports insurance companies in analysing the risk present in private, commercial, and industrial buildings through a combination of human vision, video technology and data analysis.
- LactApp: an app dedicated to breastfeeding and motherhood. With the help of artificial intelligence, and based on certified knowledge, it answers all kinds of questions in a personalised way;
- Braive: evidence-based, online treatment programs for common mental health problems, unguided or guided by a clinician, on areas such as worry and anxiety, stress and recovery, sadness, loss and trauma.
The next stage of the program marks the beginning of a 5-month collaboration between Ageas Portugal Group and the selected startups. Each of them will receive a grant of up to €25,000, as well as business support from Ageas.
