Antonello Barbaro, new CEO-General Manager of Education
A manager with significant international experience, he will lead the growth of our training offer.
Antonello Barbaro, a global professional from the class of '72, will develop our educational offer that currently sees over 1,700 students distributed between our three international schools, university and post-university programs, and BigRock. Such numbers should double at the end of 2024.
After a career in two of the world's leading consulting companies, Accenture and McKinsey, and having worked in Geneva for the Global Fund, Antonello Barbaro’s experience in the field of education has been consolidated at some of the most important institutes and universities around the world. He contributed to the startup of NYU (New York University) in the United Arab Emirates before going to the École Internationale de Genève. Here, in 1924, the foundations were put in place for the IB (International Baccalaureate) program, which became a point of reference for education on a global scale.
His arrival is part of our strategy to strengthen, scale, and globalize the Education division. This division has dealt with the Covid-19 crisis without any particular problems, thanks also to effective digital solutions. Our key role on the national and international educational scene was also recognized by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which entrusted us with managing its edutech accelerator.
