Caterina Pozzan

Caterina Pozzan is a third-year PhD candidate in the Doctoral Program in Management and Industrial Engineering at the University of Padua, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Management Engineering in 2021. Her research interests include Innovation Management in healthcare, Lean and Safety Management, and Project Management in the health sector.
She began exploring these topics during her Master’s thesis in 2021, developing a project on the application of Lean Management in community-based care. This work led to her thesis titled “Lean Healthcare and Community-Based Care Pathways: Literature Review and First Applications at Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana,” which she completed with top marks.
In December 2021, she was awarded a research fellowship as part of a joint project between the University of Padua and the healthcare organization Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana. The project focused on implementing Lean and Safety Management practices to support a proactive and integrated approach to managing risks and waste, while ensuring continuity of care for chronic patients.
In October 2022, she joined the PhD program with a scholarship funded by the European Union (Next Generation EU), aimed at strengthening human capital engaged in research, public administration, and cultural heritage. Her doctoral research focuses on assessing Lean Readiness in outpatient settings, both nationally and internationally.
Over the past three years, she has also supported teaching activities for the courses Innovation and Project Management (Master’s Degree in Management Engineering) and Applied Business Economics (Bachelor’s Degree in Management Engineering) at the University of Padua.
