GenZ Travel Lab – Young talents pitch ideas to revolutionize the travel sector

The final pitches of the “GenZ Travel Lab” initiative took place on January 28. The creative lab was developed by OTTOZEROUNO, an organization specializing in technology transfer and business development, together with Alidays, an independent Italian tour operator, in collaboration with H-FARM College. The initiative involved students from Lumina, H-FARM College’s in-house student consulting agency, inviting them to explore new languages, models, and technologies that are reshaping the traveler experience in the post-digital world.

The program, which began in October 2025, unfolded over several weeks of intensive work, marked by regular touchpoints and workshops led by OTTOZEROUNO. During these sessions, students had the opportunity to dive into trends, emerging technologies, and digital tools for the travel sector.

The experiential workshops played a key role in bringing out students’ soft skills, such as interpersonal abilities, collaboration, and problem solving. Designed as spaces for mutual discovery and the sharing of common goals and values, they helped participants prepare and organize effectively within their teams for the final phase of the journey.

Over the months, students conducted market analyses, observed key industry players, and explored how digital content and technological innovation can transform the tourism experience. They then developed their own prototypes, working in multidisciplinary teams to integrate creativity, technology, and market strategies, ultimately preparing the deliverables presented at the final pitch.

On January 28, the 20 finalist students gathered at the College to present their projects to a jury composed of Marco Giannotti, Luca Turconi, Ottavio Crivaro, and Elisabetta Maier for OTTOZEROUNO; Davide Catania and Marco Schiavi for Alidays; and Antonella Sannella and Raffaele Testorelli for H-FARM College.

The five finalist teams presented the following projects:

Team Fly – Travel Swipe
An app that turns the effort of choosing a destination into a game: through swiping and gamification elements, it generates personalized itineraries and ideal travel groups.

Team Undercat – Weekendly
An app designed to improve workers’ wellbeing by offering personalized weekends based on how users want to feel, conceived for direct sales to companies.

TDreams
A platform that transforms inspirational scrolling into real bookings, thanks to AI that generates personalized itineraries.

Team5 – AtlasAI
A project centered on the digitalization of travel agencies while keeping the human relationship at its core, using AI to simplify planning, options, and in-trip assistance.

Travel Remix
A platform that connects inspiration and booking in a continuous flow: AI turns creator content saved by users into ready-to-book itineraries.

At the end of the presentations and discussion with the jury, Team Travel Remix (composed of H-FARM College students Giada Tinazzi, Francesco Saltarelli, Giorgia Vassanelli, and Federico Prota) was announced as the winner, receiving a travel voucher offered by Alidays.

The true value of the initiative, however, goes beyond the prize: OTTOZEROUNO and Alidays are currently evaluating which of these ideas have the potential to become a real NewCo, with our students possibly acting as co-founders. More updates to come — stay tuned!
