Art+Feminism 2019

On Saturday, March 30 we take part in Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon, the global writing campaign on Wikipedia with women and art as protagonists.

Being a collaborative platform, Wikipedia is close to social dynamics and amplifies their positive and negative characteristics. Just like many other sectors, the knowledge and information field suffers from a strong gender gap: only 10% of editors on Wikipedia are women, and for this reason many contents are distorted due to the lack female contribution.

For this reason, since 2014, during the month of March, art institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York, Tate in London and the African Women Development Fund in Ghana have taken part in Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon, in order to encourage female participation and support the creation of a more inclusive knowledge.

This year, we too support this cause: join us on Saturday, March 30 to learn how editing on Wikipedia works and how to make a contribution.

Anyone and everyone interested in learning more about editing Wikipedia, regardless of experience, gender, or background, is welcome to attend.
