Our network of connections with universities abroad
As part of our commitment to providing students with a truly global education, H-FARM College has expanded its network of connections with universities abroad during the 2023/24 academic year. By collaborating with top universities from around the world, our aim is to offer impactful learning experiences that blend academic excellence with hands-on practice, preparing our students to navigate the rapidly changing landscape of business, technology, and design. From AI-driven fashion programs to entrepreneurial bootcamps, these initiatives have become cornerstones of our approach to education.
One of the standout programs has been “Styles of the Past, Design of the Future with AI Summer Program”, organized in collaboration with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Held from June 2 to 13, this course explored how AI can be leveraged to reimagine historical fashion trends, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology. Participants delved into how AI can drive creativity, sustainability, and personalization in fashion by analyzing past styles and forecasting future trends.
“We are so pleased that our Social Justice Center Scholars were able to participate in the H-FARM College program. This innovative initiative was designed to introduce young minds to the world of fashion and AI and being onsite in Venice provided an environment infused with creative thinking and essential entrepreneurial skills for our talented students.” – Dr. Joyce F. Brown, president, FIT
“The H-FARM College program created such a wonderful environment for learning and growth, which significantly impacted my work and process. Hearing from industry professionals offered refreshing perspectives that contrasted with my experiences in the American fashion scene. At H-FARM College, we were constantly reminded of the importance of preserving fashion and fostering a passion for the craft.” – Maliha Ayaz, FIT student
Earlier in February, we welcomed to our Campus RT Good, Dean of Lynn University’s College of Business and Management, to our campus in the context of our growing relationship. During his visit, Dean Good gained insights into our educational model and the pillars of the H-FARM ecosystem. The positive outcomes of the visit have already resulted in the co-development of a new course titled Shaping an Innovative Entrepreneurial Mindset, that will start in October and involve students from both H-FARM and Lynn University.
In May, we hosted 16 students from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business for a specially designed Challenge program. The initiative, co-organized with EssilorLuxottica, provided students with an opportunity to tackle real business cases, applying their theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Teams worked on creative solutions to industry challenges, culminating in a final pitch, underscoring the value of hands-on, global learning experiences.
“Honestly it has been amazing, especially for my first time in Italy. I could not have asked for a better place to spend it” – Anna Sullivan, Georgetown University student
“One of my favorite parts here at H-FARM was getting to interact with the Italian students and other international students” – Cameron Nash, Georgetown University student
From July 10 to 14, students and professors from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business participated in the Venice Entrepreneurial Marketing Bootcamp at our campus. Over four dynamic days, participants focused on developing innovative marketing strategies across industries such as Food, Fashion, Travel, Furniture, and Art, while also exploring the transformative role of AI in marketing.
“My favorite part was learning from Diego Pizzocaro about AI. He told us about a bunch of different AI technologies that I’ve never even heard from before and taught us how to use them. So it’s really cool just seeing all the applications for AI and how we can use those in our careers and education” – Kara Iverson, University of Utah student
Most recently, a delegation from Wuhan University, led by its President, visited H-FARM College to discuss potential synergies and collaborative opportunities. This initial meeting marks the beginning of a promising partnership aimed at developing academic and research initiatives.
These international collaborations reflect our commitment to offering students diverse, global impactful experiences. By bridging cultures, industries, and technologies, we remain dedicated to equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills and perspectives needed to thrive in a globally connected world. These initiatives not only enhance our academic offering but also reflect our vision of education as a powerful tool for fostering innovation and creating lasting impact on a global scale.
