_____________
The latest edition of the Global Gender Gap Report (June 2023) of the World Economic Forum highlights worrying data on our country regarding the level of gender equality: although Italy is among the European countries in which companies are most active for the promotion of D&I (diversity & inclusion) initiatives, in the world ranking, compared to 2022, Italy has dropped a few positions, going from 63rd to 79th.
The report highlights one fact in particular: the gender gap in STEM professions – an acronym used to indicate scientific professions that are among the most sought after in the job market – is still a reality. Although the number of women choosing scientific faculties is increasing, female employment in these fields is less than 30%. In non-STEM professions, however, the percentage of employed women is almost half with 49.3%.
In this scenario, Sidea Group, a strategic consultancy company in the martech segment that offers companies solutions oriented towards customer experience, intends to support the right to study of deserving female students who choose STEM Bachelor’s degrees at H-FARM College for the 2024/25 academic year by making available 2 scholarships provided by the H for Human Foundation, the H-FARM Foundation which supports young talents, promotes social inclusion and local development projects, and fosters the spread of a shared digital culture.
AI & Data Science e Technology Management with Cybersecurity: the scholarships, that partially cover the fees, have a total value of € 36,600 and are intended for female students who want to study and delve deeper into the most sophisticated technologies – including artificial intelligence and machine learning – which are revolutionising global markets and business dynamics.
“The synergistic collaboration with H-FARM College allows us to support those who invest and believe in training that can then create value in the world of work. These scholarships are a concrete contribution to reducing the gender gap and we hope they are a small virtuous example of what all companies should do to support women’s educational and professional choices”
underlines Jessica Montatore, HR Manager at Sidea Group.
Students who meet the requirements set out in the call for application can send their application, following the procedure indicated, no later than May 14, 2024.
