Hack E Rare, the winners of the hackathon on rare disease

We organised the event with global biotechnology leader CSL Behring.

Hack E Rare is the first virtual hackathon on rare disease, promoted by global biotechnology leader CSL Behring in collaboration with us and with the scientific-intellectual contribution of SIFO, the Italian Society of Hospital Pharmacy.

On 5-6 February, 40 students and young graduates in pharmacy, chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies and design, designed innovative solutions for patients and hospital staff, guided by our facilitators.

The two challenges focused on:

• improving the communication between patients/caregivers and hospitals to monitor adherence to therapy
• supporting hospital pharmacists in managing and replenishing warehouse stock to avoid drug shortage for patients with rare diseases

The two best projects will receive €2,500 each and will be awarded on 1 March 2021, the Rare Disease Day.
