Habacus, the startup that facilitates access to funding for students

It was signed the partnership between Habacus and Intesa Sanpaolo Bank for the new tool "Per Merito", the first loan, accessible without guarantees, for students who want to invest in their future.

Habacus is the first startup in which we hold a stake that addresses students directly by facilitating access to financial resources, offering excellent training courses and customized services.

Habacus is a project born in our campus in 2017 and acts as an intermediary between students and the most important players in the financial and education sectors. Its first important collaboration is with Intesa Sanpaolo and concerns the new "Per Merito" tool, a loan accessible to all students who are on track with their studies and that doesn't require any guarantee from either the students or third parties.

Per Merito is aimed at all students residing in Italy who attend Italian or foreign universities or other post-graduate training institutions or who take part in the Erasmus program. Intesa Sanpaolo appointed Habacus to certify the access requirements and the scholastic performance of the students, through a proprietary digital platform which acts as a bridge among the universities, the students and the Bank. The certification activity is combined with training courses designed to enhance the students' transversal skills, facilitate their access to work and develop their entrepreneurial attitude.

The team is managed by founder Paolo Cuniberti who, after 25 years in the financial industry, joined our top management and then focused on Habacus. He is supported by a group of international experts in the education, microcredit, fintech and student services fields.
