The video created by H-FARM College students for Open Fiber is now online
A project born from a real company brief, developed through weeks of research, filming, and post-production, and now part of Open Fiber’s official communication. The experience that involved six H-FARM College students in the production of a visual storytelling project for one of Italy’s leading digital infrastructure operators has come to a successful conclusion with the publication of the company’s Employer Value Proposition video.
Alessandra Beretta, Alessandro Radice, Alice Comastri, Teresa Toscano, Lorenzo Zanelli, and Luca Marzotto worked side by side with the Open Fiber team, transforming a creative brief into an authentic story about the company’s culture, values, and the people who contribute every day to the development of Italy’s fiber optic network. The video is now available on Open Fiber’s website and has been shared across the company’s social media channels.
Guided by mentors Massimiliano Degli Uberti, Creative Director and H-FARM College faculty member, and Alessandro Stefanato, former Visual Storytelling Specialist at H-FARM College, the students were involved in every stage of a professional production.
The project began with an in-depth research and planning phase, during which the team developed the creative concept, storyboard, and production plan. This preparatory work proved essential during filming, enabling the team to efficiently manage schedules, locations, and on-set activities.
The production phase took the students to Rome for three days of shooting: one day on-site at a construction site and two days at Open Fiber’s offices, where they conducted interviews and captured the footage outlined in the storyboard. Throughout the shoot, they had the opportunity to work directly with professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, managing the technical aspects of the production under the guidance of their mentors. They also worked closely with the client on a daily basis, reviewing the footage, evaluating each day’s work, and planning the following day’s activities.
Once filming was completed, the team spent several weeks in post-production, turning the storyboard into a fully developed visual narrative. In addition to editing, the students integrated content created with artificial intelligence tools, ensuring a visual style consistent with Open Fiber’s creative identity while exploring how AI can become a valuable asset within a professional creative workflow.
Throughout the project, each student had the opportunity to contribute their own strengths across every stage of the production process—from pre-production and on-set management to editing and post-production—in an experience that required creativity, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
“It was incredibly inspiring to discover a company like this and work alongside our mentors, who taught us so much. We also had the opportunity to build a network that could be valuable for our future careers,” says student Alessandra.
This experience demonstrates the value of learning through real-world projects and collaborating with industry partners, transforming classroom work into content that Open Fiber now uses to communicate its identity.
